Day 2
Up reasonably early as we have a long drive to Broken Hill. No time for coffee and just cereal for breakfast – if we were on the road as planned. Yesterday’s fuel consumption in the big Patrol was about what we expected for something parked on the driveway – much better than the 21 L/100 we were expecting on this leg.
Nyngan is a great country town but no time to stop today.

We had to stop for Fuel at Cobar – the Patrol is pretty thirsty but it is a good chance to stretch the legs and swap drivers. A quick lunch of salad wraps and we are off again.

Wilcannia flys past in a blur as we can sense Broken Hill isn’t far away.

Finally we make Broken Hill. Tired and low on fuel, we get to stay a day here to refresh and take in some of the local attractions.

Looking forward to some barbecued meat and cold beers – as if we were camping at the racecourse as planned.
